Well, we`ve survived the Easter long weekend and I finally have space to reflect on the past term.
After a shake up at the end of last term, with some members leaving, we`ve had new members trial, some stay, some move along for various reasons and we have some new families trialling next term.
I am eternally grateful for our core team of families who, through thick and thin, believe in what we are creating. I`m looking forward to a meet up at the playground with them tomorrow to hang out and relax while the kids play.
Our co-op runs well. The kids enjoy the learning and activities and parents take responsibility when it`s their turn to organise activities. We all get along well, having similar values and needs for our families. Many co-ops dissolve after a year. Ours is still kicking on.
Running the co-op from my home is both challenging and a blessing. Lots or prep and tidy up but I know that things will always be well organised and its one less thing I have to drive to.
What would I like less of?
Well, we had a lot of art and craft last term so I`m feeling a need to change things up. I`ll brainstorm with the families around our theme for next term.
What would I like more of?
I`d like a bit more consistency in the group. A lady I know of whose been supporting what she calls "micro schools" (and I call co-ops) for years, refelcted that these groups will always go through seasons, families will come and go and it`s just the nature of the beast. That being said, I wouldn`t mind a season of a larger number of consistent families, ones that settle in for a season or too. That would be nice 😊
Your turn. I invite you to reflect on the past term for your family 🌼
