"You're playing your part in building an amazing new homeschool community. How exciting is that?"

Quite a few of us mamas at co-op today were tired and a bit overwhelmed. The family/work/homeschool balance isn't an easy one to find. We need to make enough money to pay the bills, we want to spend time with our families, we want our kids to learn new things and have a fun social life and hey, we wouldn't mind a social life of some sort too!
Today, I ticked all those boxes.
It was a good day 🌈

I don't know how many conversations I've had with other homeschool parents where we've said...
"Wouldn't it be awesome to just swap kids one day a week and save ourselves some money?"

Well it's time to stop the talk and actually make this happen!
We've started a fb group, Conscious Family Share Care. Get on there and find a likeminded family to connect with and see if you can make this work for your family 🥰

Well, we've survived the Easter long weekend and I finally have space to reflect on the past term.

After a shake up at the end of last term, with some members leaving, we've had new members trial, some stay, some move along for various reasons and we have some new families trialling next term.
I am eternally grateful for our core team of families who, through thick and thin, believe in what we are creating. I'm looking forward to a meet up at the playground with them tomorrow to hang out and relax while the kids play.

Our co-op runs well. The kids enjoy the learning and activities and parents take responsibility when it's their turn to organise activities. We all get along well, having similar values and needs for our families. Many co-ops dissolve after a year. Ours is still kicking on.

Running the co-op from my home is both challenging and a blessing. Lots or prep and tidy up but I know that things will always be well organised and its one less thing I have to drive to.

What would I like less of?
Well, we had a lot of art and craft last term so I'm feeling a need to change things up. I'll brainstorm with the families around our theme for next term.

What would I like more of?
I'd like a bit more consistency in the group. A lady I know of whose been supporting what she calls "micro schools" (and I call co-ops) for years, refelcted that these groups will always go through seasons, families will come and go and it's just the nature of the beast. That being said, I wouldn't mind a season of a larger number of consistent families, ones that settle in for a season or too. That would be nice 😊

Your turn. I invite you to reflect on the past term for your family 🌼

Our gorgeous little Crunchy Co-op in Glenview now has space for another family!

We are a small group of 6 families atm, with learning planned and facilitated by parents and an ex Montessori teacher.
Our values include natural health and immunity, gentle parenting and non-violent communication. Our children are sensitive and kind and we would be open to families who resonate with this with kids aged 4-7 years.

Our sessions are 9.30-12.30 every Thursday, $20 per child per session, $10 for siblings, with a term's commitment required.

DM me for a free trial session if this sounds like it meets your family's needs 🌼

From a simple theme, "Building Our World", our resourceful co-op parents have come up with some amazing activities! Today, the kids built towers using wooden pegs and craft sticks. They were at it for ages and were totally engaged. Thanks Divya Singh! So much fun 🥰
